Jelének, Jan ; Kupková, Lucie (advisor) ; Halabuk, Andrej (referee)
Development of selected invasive species and meadow vegetation classification algorithm in the Krkonoše Mountains using hyperspectral data Abstract The thesis deals with utilization of airbone APEX hyperspectral image data for selected invasive species and meadow vegetation classification in the study area of the Krkonoše Mountains National Park. The mian goal of the thesis was to develop of classification algorithm based on proposed vegetation indices. The approach was based on the utilization of in-situ LAI, fAPAR, chlorophyll content data and analysis of their relation with vegetation spectral properties. The work also deals with several problems regarding LAI - vegetation indices relationship, namely saturation of LAI and mutual correlation of LAI and chlorophyll content. Tha classification was focued on invasive species Rumex alpinus and Lupinus polyphyllus, meadow vegetation with dominant Nardus stricta and dominant Trisetum flavescens and cutted lawns. Besides the proposed approach, the presented work resulted in several classification maps of study area and in spectral libraries, containing ground level spectra of studied invasive species, meadow vegetation types and several other meadow species. Keywords: hyperspectral image data, APEX, LAI, fAPAR, vegetation indices, invasive species, meadow...
Index listové plochy solitérů a liniových výsadeb dřevin
Binková, Tereza
Abstract Bachelor thesis Leaf area index of solitaires and line plantation deals with the findings of LAI in selected line plantations and solitaires with direct and indirect methods. For indirect method of leaf area index measurement two instruments were used these are: 1) LAI-2000 PCA (LiCor, USA) as a world use standard and 2) LaiPen LP_100 (PSI, ČR) as a new parallel instrument, which is similar to the one mentioned above, however, more easy to be used in practice. As direct method of comparison method of litter traps was used. The aim of the work was to evaluate if above mentioned instrument based on indirect method are usable to determining LAI of line plantation and solitaires in landscape. The results showed that used indirect methods are probably not suitable for LAI estimation of solitaires and line plantations mainly because of great influence of synoptic situation. In addition, the selected direct method also does not reach required accuracy, because of influence of wind, which affects the amount of litter in traps. Due to these serious reasons it is recommended to use different direct, semi-direct or indirect methods.
Field protocol for in-situ biophysical parameters collection
Šudová, Markéta ; Brodský, Lukáš (advisor) ; Červená, Lucie (referee)
Field protocol for in-situ biophysical parameters collection Abstract The main aim of diploma thesis is to design a unified protocol intended for collecting of in-situ biophysical parameters of vegetation based on an up-to-now published literature as well as on my own experimental measuring. The key for measuring of high- quality field data, that are suitable for a subsequent validation of remote sensing products, is an implementation of unified rules as well as all the phases of data collecting, a recommended preparation before the very measuring, the choice of a sampling scheme and a processing of measured data. Based on an accessible literature the current methods of LAI data measuring were evaluated and the basic protocol parameters were defined. For designing of a proper parameterization of this protocol an experimental field measurement was carried out. A determination of a suitable number of partial measurements within ESU is given by a relationship between the number of partial measurements and MSE value. The sampling schemes stated in a literature as well as my own designed sampling schemes are subsequently tested in order to determine a suitable sampling scheme. Based on achieved MSE values the most suitable sampling scheme that was later verified in field measuring was evaluated. Based on a field...

The field experiments based on manipulating the crop environment are critical for determining the crop’s response to the climatic conditions expected in the future. An experimental site in Domanínek is located by 49°31'42 N, 16°14'13 E at an altitude of 560 m (potato production area). The field experiment using rain-out shelters for soil water availability reduction was conducted in 2015/2016. The main aim of this study was to assess the impacts of different water availability (rain-out shelters vs. control) on the performance of selected field crops (spring barley, winter wheat, winter rape and silage maize). Reduction of precipitation in treatment with rain-out shelters was confirmed by measuring soil water content. The amount of precipitation during growing period was reduced by 251 mm, 277 mm, 217 mm and 240 mm for the spring barley, winter wheat, winter rape and silage maize, respectively. As a consequence, leaf area index and yields declined, however the crop responses were not consistent.

Parametrizace a validace růstového modelu pro řepku ozimou
Vrána, David
This diploma thesis is focused on winter rape growth and development modeling by DSSAT software. The date of flowering, date of maturity, yields, above ground biomass dynamics and LAI dynamics were used for parameterization and consequent validation of the selected model. The data from field trials conducted by Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture (ÚKZÚZ) within Lednice station (period from 1999 to 2006) and Domanínek station (period from 1999 to 2011) were used for simulations. Moreover data from field trials conducted by Mendel University in Brno within Domanínek station (period from 2012 to 2014) were used for winter rape modeling. This experiment consisted of eight variants with different sowing dates, nitrogen fertilization amounts and two cultivars. The dataset for DSSAT model testing was prepared based on above mentioned experiments. Despite the first attempt to simulate winter rape growth and development in Central Europe by DSSAT model, interesting results were achieved. Although some deviations between observed and simulated parameters appeared, the model was able to mimic characteristic crop growth dynamics. One of the main shortcomings is that model is not able to simulate necrosis of leaves within winter period. On the other hand, the model was able to reproduce the effect of different climatic conditions within included locations (i.e. later onset of observed phenophases within cooler station with higher elevation etc.) and the parameters were estimated with higher accuracy at Domanínek station.
Porostní klima v jedlo-bukovém clonném kotlíku
Vajda, Michal
The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the stand microclimate within fir-beech stand planted in the gap under the adult spruce stand canopy protection at the ecosystem station of Rájec (Drahanská vrchovina Highlands, the Czech Republic) during the growing season (May -- October) in 2014. On the fir-beech stand incident on average for the whole growing season only 11 % of photosynthetically active radiation incident on the adult spruce stand. Values of air temperature were decreasing in the vertical profile of fir-beech stand under the adult spruce stand canopy protection toward to the ground. Air temperature in the height of 2 meters above the ground was lower in the fir-beech stand in the gap compared with the adult spruce stands. The relative air humidity in the height of 2 meters above the ground was higher in the fir-beech stand compared with the adult spruce stands. Total precipitation sum was 447 mm at the ecosystem station of Rájec after the growing season (May -- October) in 2014, which corresponds to the long-term averages for this locality. Different distribution of rainfall during the growing season were found out. Total throughfall sum was higher in fir-beech stand in the gap compared with the throughfall sum in the adult spruce stand -- the difference was almost 17 %. Analysis of the stand microclimate within the fir-beech stand under the adult spruce stand canopy protection showed that conversion of forest monoculture on the forest close to the nature by the trees planting in forest gaps is useful due to appropriate light and moisture conditions in the gap.
Výpočet radiace v lesních porostech na základě dat leteckého laserového skenování
Patočka, Zdeněk
Leaf area index (LAI) is the most important variable influencing the penetration of solar radiation beams through the forest stand. Currently, the airborne laser scanning, as new indirect method, suggests itself for estimation of LAI. LAI was measured terrestrially using the hemispherical photographies analysis and compared with LiDAR Penetration Index - LPI. There were created several regression models describing the dependence of LAI and LPI with coefficients of determination from 0.71 up to 0.81. Leaf area index was also applied to the Beer-Lambert law for calculation of the solar radiation in forest stands. Practical application possibilities of LPI in forestry (estimation of stocking, optimization of shelterwood cuttings etc.) have been described in conclusion of this diploma thesis.
